Four-Day Online Retreat
April 25 - April 28
We are sad to have to cancel our April 4-Day Retreat at Springwater, but are happy to be able to offer something new: an online retreat with Springwater Teachers that follows much the same format as our traditional retreats. Most of us have been urged to limit travel, to self-isolate and to avoid congregating in large groups. What we hope to offer in an online retreat is the opportunity to experience our physical isolation and our very real connections in a shared retreat experience.
Included in the retreat will be daily talks and group and individual meetings–much like the retreats in Springwater. Since the talks will be recorded, it would be possible to listen to them at another time if that works better with your schedule. The schedule has been modified to reflect the geographic diversity of attendees and facilitators. Certainly one may choose to sit outside of the specified times as well, but here is what we are doing on Zoom:
Saturday April 25-Monday April 27
8:00-8:10 AM Introductory remarks, Zoom orientation by hosts/coordinators
8:10-8:15 AM A few words by days talk giver about sitting
8:15-9:15 AM Two 25-minute timed sitting rounds with 10 min. break.
9:15-10:30 AM break
10:30-11:30 AM Two 25-minute timed sitting rounds w/2 7-minute breaks (one between rounds, one before talk)
11:30- 12:15 PM Talk (approx.)
12:15-2:00 PM Break
2:00-2:25 PM Quiet Sitting
2:25-2:30 PM A few words about dialogue by days talk giver
2:30-3:30 PM Dialogue
3:30-7:00 PM Break
7:00-9:00 PM four 25-minute timed sittings w/7-minute breaks.
Tuesday April 28
Same as above until 3:30 PM (end of retreat).
3:30 PM Socialize and enjoy virtual beverages and snacks!
Saturday: Susan Schepp
Sunday: Stephan Bielfeldt
Monday: Wayne Coger
Tuesday: Bob Dattola
Individual (one-on-one) Meetings:
If anyone would like a meeting with a facilitator or with another participant, arrange by Zoom chat message or by emailing email@example.com and asking that your message be forwarded to the person you would like to meet with. You may arrange a meeting at any time outside of talk and dialogue times. You can meet with someone on a private Zoom account, WhatsApp, FaceTime or other communication platform. At present, all of the Springwater Teacher/Facilitators have indicated that they will be attending at least parts of this retreat
Our online and mail-in registration forms don’t quite fit this situation, so a simple email stating your intent to participate in the retreat will be sufficient to register for the retreat. If possible, a small voluntary contribution of $25.00 a day or $100.00 for the whole retreat would help us to maintain the Center and our ability to provide retreat space in the future. You may make your contribution by going to the donation page or by sending a check. If you use the donation button specify in the Additional Comments box that the donation is for the online retreat.
