7-Day Retreat w/Richard Witteman

Spaces for this retreat are very limited. Please contact us at info@springwatercenter.org to confirm availability before submitting a registration.
In this silent retreat we will explore the wonder of spacious awareness…and through movement and bodily inquiry, explore the flowing nature of being embodied. Daily rhythms will include quiet sitting, periods of movement, talks, private meetings with Richard, group inquiry, and the invitation to walk in nature on our miles of trails.
Everything is optional, according to what feels right for you. There is space and support for you to explore and discover your own authentic way of meditation and inquiry.
In the stillness and silence of simply being, there is an invitation to pause and listen…to be curious, to wonder…to slow down, to explore and experience the richness of this moment…and the timeless awareness that is our nature.
And through movement and inquiry, we will explore and experience the flowing nature of our bodies…explore the miracle of being spacious and timeless, and so physically and intimately here in everyday life…opening our hearts to this wondrous river of life that we are.
In the silence of retreat, there is space to be. Space to see and feel and listen, to question and wonder…to be intimately here in the heart and fullness of whatever is unfolding: Sunlight and shadow…trees and rustling leaves…and the dynamic streaming flow of thought, sensation, feeling, and energy.
The daily rhythms of retreat provide space and nourishment for wonder, curiosity, and playful inquiry — space for each of us to explore and discover embodied spacious awareness in our own way.
Richard has been leading retreats at Springwater since 2003. He began meditative work in 1971 and was a student of Roshi Philip Kapleau at the Rochester Zen Center for ten years. In 1982 he began working with Toni Packer, and has been part of Springwater Center since its inception.
