Silent Retreats
Our silent meditation retreats have been the core of our offerings since we held our first Springwater retreat in 1984.
We began holding retreats over 30 years ago based on the Zen tradition of sesshin. Over time, we have dropped the forms of the Zen tradition but have maintained an atmosphere of silence and sustained inquiry.
We offer retreats of four and seven days in length. Pairing a retreat with a guest stay or participation in Quiet Weeks is a great way to have a longer retreat experience.
Four and seven day retreats typically begin on Saturday evening. Guests may stay over the night following a retreat at no charge. The daily schedule includes periods of sitting, walking, talks, group dialogue, shared meals and rest.
