Springwater Center’s teachers are available for meetings

During this time of social isolation and distancing, the Center’s teachers are available to meet with you in a variety of ways. The people listed below all spent many years meeting with and attending retreat with Toni Packer, the Center’s founder. They were asked by her or those she named, to help continue the Center’s meditative work. Information is given about how to get in touch with them. Donations to the Center for meetings are welcome. Stephan Bielfeldt

Stephan lives in northern Germany, near the city of Hamburg. He’s been engaged in meditative work for many years. and has been holding retreats in both English and German since 2003.

Wayne Coger

In addition to holding retreats, Wayne is the Administrator of Springwater Center. He has been engaged in meditation work since the 1970’s, has served on staff since 1983, and in 2001 was asked by Toni to help carry on the work of the Center.

Bob Dattola

Bob has retired from work at Cornell Unversity, and lives in Ithaca New York. He’s been a supportive member of the Center since its formation and is a long-serving trustee, as well as leading retreats in recent years.

Stew Glick

Stew has been involved in meditative work since the early 1970’s and served on staff for several decades. He began holding retreats in the mid 90’s. Until the Corornavirus pandemic, Stew and his wife Lisa Schwartz were holding a weekly meditation group in their home in Rochester, NY.

Sandra Gonzalez

Sandra is available to meet with you in English or Spanish from her home in Springwater. Born in Nicaragua, she first connected with the Center in 1988, and did meditative work for seven years prior to that.

Les Schaffer

Les has done teaching and research work in physics and brings a spirit of inquiry to meditative work. In recent years he has begun leading retreats at the Center and spending time here volunteering.

Susan Schepp

Susan lives in Rochester NY. She has been engaged in meditative work since the 1970’s. Now retired from teaching, Susan recently has been making contributions to committee work at the Center, as well as serving as a trustee and secretary of the organization.

Richard Witteman

Richard has been engaged in meditative work since the early 1970’s, and has been leading retreats since 2003. Richard lives with Sophia Savich in Gualala, CA, and in July they come to the Center for a yearly sojourn.

The Center’s founder Toni Packer left a legacy of wonderful talks and books. In them she would frequently examine fear, anger, and meeting each moment, no matter how fraught with emotion it might be.
