Judith visited the Center earlier this summer. Now back in Germany, she will give the talk at this Saturday’s online OMD and take part in the dialogue that follows. Judith worked with Toni Packer from the time Toni began to teach in the 1970’s.
In her first appearance as guest speaker at an OMD last year, Judith spoke of our storehouses of knowledge, and sitting with our stream of consciousness:
What can a single human being do? Is there something to do? There can be put a question: “Is there something beyond the brain, beyond the mind? Is there something not knowable?” It’s quite a strong question, because I’m swimming in this ocean of knowledge. So to sit down… to listen, what does one listen to? One first of all listens to the known, like a stream coming, a stream of feelings which I know, a stream of judgement, stories, images, whatever, stream, stream, stream, … and maybe, if one sticks to it, if one doesn’t give up, if one questions again and again, “What is this?” maybe something shifts and all of sudden one perceives this stream as what it is, a stream of consciousness, of knowledge, but now there is some perceiving of that, or awaring of that, and with that, all of a sudden the contents of what’s going on is seen, is recognized. …and instead of jumping into one of these thoughts which is passing or emotion that appears, one becomes not active to jump.

Speaking and dialoguing at Springwater Center is different from a lecture or a discussion group where we share what we already know. The spirit of meditative inquiry infuses talks and dialogues with a sense of exploration and discovery, of being open to the freshness of not knowing. Join the program online and experience this for yourself.
Online Open Meditative Dialogues are donation-based events. To contribute in support, a donation of $10 per attendance is suggested. Please use the button below to donate, and choose the “Online Sittings/Programs” option. Your generosity helps keep online programs available for all to attend.
Thank you.
