During this cool and colorful autumn, take a quiet break and Zoom into our online program, Saturday October 18th at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
Following a 25 minute sitting, there will be a recorded talk by Toni Packer, who was instrumental in founding Springwater Center over 40 years ago. The recording was made at the November 1997 retreat at the Center.
In her talk, Toni wonders, “what does it mean to have a creative moment, and from where does it arise?” She explores, “what is the purpose of this life I call mine?” and then goes on to contemplate “what is love?”
With enthusiastic curiosity, Toni asks:
So what is our purpose in life? … Why am I here? What for? … I’ve got to do something with my life! This is the way we put it, and it’s a horrendous way of putting it, because there’s “me” and “my life” and “what I do with it”. Whereas, in truth, this is all one thing. We’re life!…not separate from this deer with a white bushy tail, watching and bounding gracefully.
Following the talk and a short break there will be an opportunity to dialogue with other participants.

Speaking and dialoguing at Springwater Center is different from a lecture or a discussion group where we share what we already know. The spirit of meditative inquiry infuses talks and dialogues with a sense of exploration and discovery, of being open to the freshness of not knowing. Join the program online and experience this for yourself.
