Late Summer News

What a summer it has been and it’s not even over yet. Since the beginning of June the Center has held three 7-day and one  4-day silent retreats, two All Day Sittings, a pot luck picnic, Quiet Weeks, and a Day of Remembrance for our founder Toni Packer. We’re not done yet as there are two more 7-day retreats to come before September is over. Check out what’s ahead, as well as photos from previous events in this update.

September 22-29, Seven Day Retreat with Richard Witteman

This retreat is almost fully booked with only a few spaces with shared accommodations left. Find out more about Richard on the website and register soon if you want to attend.

Quiet Weeks, September 9-21

Quiet Weeks prior to the September 1-8 retreat were well attended and hopefully the same may be said for the upcoming period, September 9-21. Quiet weeks offer an opportunity to experience an extended stay by combining a seven day retreat with a guest stay. Portions of the Center are kept in silence, there are daily opportunities for sitting meditation and group dialogues are held twice a week. Call or email to make a reservation.

A Day of Appreciation

Friends gathered at the Center on Saturday August 25 to remember Toni Packer and the impact of her teaching on their lives. Toni died five years ago on August 23, 2013. Many shared stories and anecdotes and a member, Lissy Gulick, though unable to attend, sent a recording of a beautiful song, Here and Now, that she had both written and sung. Thanks to Magdi Badaway and Susan McCallum for the pictures below…
